Novago, from diagnosis to implementation

Novago cooperative approached us with the aim of taking part in climate action. This organization from the agricultural sector wanted to know the best practices to implement in order to start a transition process. Our mitigation consultants, Henri Gilmant, Charlotte Hulin and Sarah Lussier accompanied them in this process through our new strategic climate action diagnosis service.

With this service, any organization, regardless of its size or activity sector, can quickly obtain an assessment of its maturity with regard to the transition as well as a set of strategic actions to implement in order to move towards a low-carbon model. Developed in partnership with ADEME as part of the ACT – Assessing Low Carbon Transition® initiative, the diagnosis an accessible and affordable tool for transformation. Any company wishing to achieve a solid, robust transition that is compatible with the major international standards (SBTi, CDP, TCFD) would benefit from following this approach.

The cooperative’s management team, represented by Myra Tremblay, Senior CSR Advisor, and Dany Côté, General Manager, were able to discover that the cooperative was already partly engaged in its transition process, notably through a willingness to train its teams on climate change, the integration of environmental issues into corporate governance, as well as through an ongoing process of analysis of its GHG emissions. The diagnosis identified major areas of work, such as the creation and implementation of a GHG reduction plan, the training of its agronomists on climate projections and a review of its catalog in order to offer products that emit less GHG.
