About us

Founded in 2016 under the name Carbon Consult Group, the company changed its name to CCG in 2020. Since our inception, we have been assisting businesses and communities to take action in the fight against climate change. Based in Montreal and with an office in Quebec City, our experts help organizations measure and reduce their GHG emissions and implement a climate change adaptation plan.

Our team

We are a team of experts passionate for tackling the climate crisis. Under the guidance of three experienced partners, CCG’s consultants form a dynamic team with multidisciplinary skills. Accompanied by an expert top-level advisory committee, we have surrounded ourselves with external partners who bring a wide range of expertise.

Pascal Geneviève

co-founder and general director

Pascal has been working for more than 10 years on the carbon footprint of organizations.
After a career in aeronautics, where he held numerous responsibilities in areas such as engineering, testing, simulations and after-sales service, Pascal specialized in the environmental footprint of products. Convinced that climate change is the challenge of our time, he co-founded CCG in 2016 to support public and private organizations in the transition to a low-carbon economy. Pascal is a certified “GHG Inventory Quantifier”(GHG-IQ) by CSA. His passion for the fight against climate change leads him to share his knowledge at conferences and training sessions on both mitigation and adaptation.
Pascal holds a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Urbana Champaign, Illinois, and an engineering degree from the École des Mines, in France.

Jean Paquin

co-founder and president

Jean has over 25 years of experience in developing and managing renewable energy projects worldwide.
After several entrepreneurial experiences in Spain, he became Director of Business Development for one of the world’s leading wind energy consultants. Subsequently, he became director of the hydroelectric generation department and senior director of business development for one of the largest independent power generators in Canada. Jean co-founded CCG in 2016 to bring his deep expertise to all types of organizations. An outstanding communicator, he is regularly solicited as a speaker.
Jean holds an eMBA from the John Molson School of Business and a degree in Civil Engineering (B.Sc.) from Concordia University. Jean is a member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ #107308).

Alexandru Iordan

Senior Director

Alexandru is an expert in business risk management related to climate change.
Trained as a chemist, Alexandru has been responsible, among other things, for the integration of complex regulations into business processes and product compliance. Internationally, he has been involved in the development of standards for environmental management in the supply chain. He was also involved in the design of CORSIA, the first international system for offsetting CO2 emissions for aviation.
As part of the management team, Alexandru leads CCG’s services for the financial sector. He is also involved in various missions aimed at measuring and valuing emission reductions in the industrial manufacturing, green technologies, transport and civil aviation sectors.
Alexandru holds a degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master’s degree from the University of Strasbourg, in France.

Maria Krupennikova​


Maria has more than 10 years of project management experience in the oil industry and IT sector.
She has been in charge of teams on multi-million dollar international projects. Her experiences have led her to take on roles as project manager and operations manager, while sharing her expertise as a trainer.
Wishing to combine her outstanding skills with her deep convictions, she joined the SAF+ Consortium team in 2019. She is responsible for the development of the SAF+ pilot plant project, a project aimed at producing clean fuel for the aviation sector.
Maria holds a Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

Jeff Tétreault


Jeff specializes in greenhouse gas quantification and is a recognized trainer for « Jeu CLIMAT ».
While in university, he was responsible for creating and coordinating employee involvement programs in sustainable development. He was also the sustainability coordinator of an event with more than 8,000 participants. He then joined the CCG team in 2019, where he trained in GHG accounting while developing the concept of the gamified workshop “Jeu CLIMAT”.
Jeff holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Science and Society from McGill University.

Jean-Louis Tedone


A specialist in climate change adaptation, Jean-Louis has been working in the field of public policy for nearly 10 years.
He holds a Master’s degree in Geographic Sciences and contributed to the design of the Interactive Atlas of Vulnerability of Quebec’s Population to Climate Hazards. As a political advisor at the National Assembly, then at the MTQ and the MELCC, he has participated in the development of several important bills, including the Quebec government’s first framework policy on climate change. His experience in provincial and municipal politics gives him both a global and detailed vision of the fight against climate change and a good knowledge of Quebec’s municipal reality. Jean-Louis joined CCG in 2020 as a senior advisor on adaptation.

Francois Lafortune​


François has been working in the field of GHGs and climate change for more than a decade.
Holding a PhD in analytical chemistry, he has been teaching GHG and climate change courses for Sherbrooke University’s Master’s Program in Environment since 2012. He has acted as a consultant in Morocco and Côte d’Ivoire, where he gave workshops on climate change, and speaks regularly at symposiums and conferences.
François’ expertise covers the quantification of GHG emissions for organizations or projects. In particular, he has conducted GHG emission inventories and GHG emission reduction plans for a dozen Quebec municipalities. He is regularly called upon to verify emissions declarations of public and private organizations.
François joined CCG in 2018 as a senior climate change specialist.

Amir Nosrat​


Amir specializes in analyzing the language used by companies on climate change.
After designing and administering energy efficiency programs for electricity and gas companies, Amir pursued a PhD in Strategy and Sustainability at McGill University’s Desautels Faculty of Management, where he specialized in the analysis of climate-related disclosures such as the CDP and TCFD. He began working with CCG to leverage the data embedded in climate-related disclosures as a means of predicting future financial and sustainability performance. He co-founded Climatable, a non-profit association dedicated to educating Canadians about climate change through entrepreneurship workshops. Amir is also an instructor in sustainability strategies at McGill University, where students learn how to design business strategies and models to address complex sustainability issues.

Pierre Gonthier

Senior Counsel

Pierre has been practicing for over 25 years in the field of taxation and commercial law. He has worked for the government, a large accounting firm and in private practice. Pierre has been involved in numerous sales and reorganizations of small and medium-sized businesses. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Centre for International Sustainable Development Law, an organization dedicated to the promotion of legal education and research in international sustainable development law. His interest in sustainable development issues led him to meet with the founders of CCG, to assist in its foundation and then to act as its senior lawyer. In December 2019, he supported CCG’s delegation to the 25th Climate Conference (COP 25) in Madrid. A member of the Quebec Bar since 1990, Pierre is a graduate in law from McGill University and holds a Master’s degree in taxation and an MBA in international affairs from HEC Montréal.

Sylvianne Guimond

Accounting and sustainable finance

Sylvianne specializes in accounting, budget management and results analysis for businesses. She has worked in a major Canadian bank, in a college institution and is also in private practice. Her mission is to demonstrate that sustainable development can be profitable for a company. Her passion for communicating her knowledge and her proactive approach allow her to create a positive relationship with her contacts. Supported by a solid foundation in accounting, she prioritizes sustainable and innovative solutions in her approach. She joined the team in order to create synergy in the services offered. Sylvianne is a graduate in accounting sciences from the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR) and holds the title of professional chartered accountant CPA, CMA.


Jeremy Quesnel


Jeremy started his career working for industrial groups in the automotive sector. In charge of optimization and continuous improvement, he gained significant experience in project management and change management. He also took part in a Task Force to help American and European factories in crisis.
His social and ecological concerns led him to shift his career towards environment, especially GHG emissions and climate change topics. Passionate about geopolitics and energy, Jeremy is always learning and applying this knowledge in diversified mandates. He joined the CCG team in 2020.
He holds a Master of Engineering from the École des Mines in France, then went to University of Sherbrooke, in Québec, for a Specialized Graduate Diploma in Environmental Management.

Mélanie Luong Dinh Giap


Mélanie has been working with passion in the environmental field for nearly 6 years. She began her career in environmental project management in the field of soil decontamination with several large companies. She then joined the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society as a project manager in conservation where she acquired a wide range of knowledge in the conservation of Quebec’s territory and species at risk. Convinced of the importance of everyone’s involvement in the ecological transition, Mélanie is involved in several citizen participation projects. She joined the CCG team in 2020.  

Mélanie holds a degree in geological engineering from the École nationale supérieure de géologie (ENSG) in Nancy, France.

Ernesto Rodriguez-Sanchez


Ernesto has a solid experience in conformity assessment and management systems certification. For more than 8 years, he was a consultant in structured continuous improvement in a certification body and then in charge of supporting several companies in strategic management and improvement of their performance and corporate sustainability in Latin America.

In recent years, he has been interested in the challenges of resilient and sustainable development in an uncertain world where major threats are constantly evolving.

Ernesto holds a Master of Engineering in Organizational Resilience from Polytechnique Montréal and is an OIQ’s candidate for the engineering profession. Having a major interest in urban resilience, climate change adaptation, and business continuity, he joined the CCG team in 2020 as a consultant in adaptation and resilience

Anne Martin

Executive assistant

After working in the health care and sales sectors, Anne redirected her career to the administrative field. Her personal and family commitment to better management of the Earth’s resources led her to CCG. Anne supports the management team in the various administrative tasks, allowing the management team to focus on accelerating climate solution projects. Anne combines her ease of work with her conviction that the Earth can no longer wait and that actions must be taken today.

Marketing & communication

Caroline is currently studying in business administration – profile marketing at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières. Aware and alert of the impact of her activities on the environmentshe joined CCG with the goal of contributing to climate change action. Motivated by the idea of being able to align her skills with her deepest convictions, as well as having the opportunity to work on projects that are both creative and innovative, she joined the CCG team in 2020 as a marketing and communication intern.

Lukas Brochard​

Lukas worked as a sustainability consultant for international organizations before moving to the private sector where he helped companies improve their environmental and social performance. He now assesses the environmental performance of companies for investors.

Rosalie Vendette

Rosalie is an expert in sustainable finance, an expertise developed through the positions she held, and the various projects she carried out within the responsible investment sector over the past 15 years. Between 2009 and 2019, she was the figurehead of responsible investment at Desjardins Group, where she coordinated the integration of environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors into organizational frameworks, business practices and disclosures.

Marc Poulin

Marc was an executive for more than 10 years in an international renewable energy consulting engineering firm. He is now dedicated to setting up a start-up dedicated to offering online solutions for sleep disorders (Haleo). He is also a mentor for several start-up entrepreneurs and a member of the SAESEM Board of Directors.
