CLIMAT: the first serious game to train decision makers on climate issues, is officially launched in Canada.<\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/p>\n

This week, Carbon Consult Group (CCG) and WASA Games are launching CLIMAT, an interactive, unique workshop which will make managing climate-related business issues intuitive for decision-makers in companies, municipalities, and other organizations. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

By combining WASA Games\u2019 expertise in <\/span>learning gamification<\/span> with CCG\u2019s on-the-ground experience and know-how, the workshop allows participants to <\/span>quickly acqui<\/span>re concepts through <\/span>a<\/span>n unconventional,<\/span> disruptive experience. Resulting from over a year of development, the design and dynamics of the game reproduce situations and impacts inspired by real cases<\/span> that <\/span>offer<\/span> participants an immersive experience<\/span> asking them to tackle<\/span> climate-related issues<\/span>.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c <\/span>CCG is particularly excited to offer an innovative learning platform that allows participants not only to better understand <\/span><\/i>causes of <\/span><\/i>climate<\/span><\/i> change<\/span><\/i>, but also to grasp the benefits of adopting enterprise risk management measures, for example risks related to infrastructure, supply, and <\/span><\/i>regulation<\/span><\/i>s<\/span><\/i>. This reinforces their autonomy on these subjects and will help to make their action plans more robust <\/span><\/i>\u201d, says <\/span>Alexandru<\/span> Iordan<\/span>, Senior director at CCG.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

This training was born out <\/span>of the need for <\/span>business and political decision-makers<\/span> <\/span>to better understand issues related to<\/span> climate<\/span> mitigation and adaptation in a more fundamental way; allowing them in the process to take long term beneficial decisions.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c <\/span>Following the success of the Quartier Durable game, we wanted to create <\/span><\/i>a<\/span><\/i> version that <\/span><\/i>was<\/span><\/i> more focused on climate issues. It is therefore without hesitation that we responded to CCG\u2019s call to co-create a workshop aimed at empowering decision makers and managers. In addition to <\/span><\/i>help participants <\/span><\/i>grasp<\/span><\/i> key <\/span><\/i>concepts<\/span><\/i>, CLIMAT creates a friendly environment that encourages exchanges and the development of teamwork skills <\/span><\/i>\u201d, explains Julie Tremblay, co-founder of WASA Games.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

The workshop has already made its mark with Concordia JMSB\u2019s 2019 executive-MBA cohort and continues to be solicited by training bodies and companies looking to acquire the right tools to support their climate strategy. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
